Great Manual!
Recently, I tried to start again with my yoga practice and discovered two things:1. it was a long time ago, and my muscles forgot what they were able to do a few years ago2. I forgot almost all the asanas I knew before except the basic ones. That said, I went to find books about yoga, and this one was the best discovery. In it, you can learn everything you have to know about the origins and benefits of yoga practice, as well as asanas for beginners and those who are not beginners. Each asana is followed by pictures and comments about who should not do it.

Must for beginners
Very detailed and easy to follow. Also quite educational. I enjoyed this as well as the yoga instruction. Enjoy and good luck!

A wonderful way to refresh my memory.
I have been doing yoga off and on for over fifty years. The last 3 years I have been fighting bone cancer. The treatments and medications have taken there toll. I wanted to get stronger, so I returned back to yoga. Using the book to choose what I can do at my speed and endurance will be a great help.
Alana Rutherford –
With the detailed description of each pose it is easy for beginners to follow and improve as the become more familiar with each pose and grow more flexible.
Rashida –
A book written with beginners in mind. An easy to understand introduction to yoga with photos and guidelines for each posture included.

Clearly laid out and for someone brand new to Yoga, a gentle introduction. Many of the poses are a long way away for me, but there are enough I can do.It would be considerably improved by having the photo on one page and the instructions on the facing page for each pose.Even better: use a spiral binding so it lies flat so you can read while trying the pose. One or two of the photos and descriptions don’t completely match, so a bit of editing would help.Still useful, though.
Metal Man 215 –
This book has helped to change my life for the better. After 20 years of metal work my knees, left hip and right shoulder have re occurring injuries that left me aching 24 7 and cantankerous.I was inspired by my frenchiPablo to stretch more cos if he ached like me he wouldn’t be barking like a loon at nothing 1 second after waking up, what a guy.So got this book and have been working through it every morning. The aches are not completely gone but never all at once, which is nice. The really good thing about this book is it shows you moves to strengthen hips, shoulders and knees and it works. If your sick of aching try this book it’s brilliant.

The content of the book was just what I wanted – a photographic guide to yoga poses with notes on adaptations. The printing was of poor quality and appeared to be a facsimile of the original book
