    SHOCKED
I must say that I am rather SHOCKED that this book knocked it out of the park. An old guru I used to work with used to say that, “Yoga is popular. But, what’s popular is not yoga.” This rings true in American Society, as many places and classes DO NOT practice Traditional Yoga, and rather focus on the different poses and the fitness aspect of it. This book nails it! It actually talks about teachings and concepts that I learned from an ancient yoga guru, and it is SO informative! Definitely buy this if you want to know more about such a complex practice/lifestyle.

    All-in-one book
I have been doing yoga for a while but there’s always room for improvement and I often refer to this book. It’s an older book but has information about yoga, meditation, etc. I did not and will not read it from beginning to end, but I keep referring to it when I have a question about something. I used to own a bookstore and always liked these basic For Dummies books because they treat the topic without making you feel like a dummy. People were always happy buying these books and I’m happy that I bought this one.

  3. Linda Lou C

    Worth the money
    Good compilation. Good reference.

  4. Orin Conant

    Informative
Great reference. Easy to understand. Practical guide for clinicians.

  5. Rhonda S. Hogarth

    Pleased
This book has something for everyone. Even me, with my physical limitations, can do yoga. This book has movements for just about any limitation or non-limitation. I also like the pleasant way the subject of yoga is presented. It is entertaining, yet serious enough to keep the focus on the movements.

  6. T. Kendall

    great yoga starter
I wanted to start Yoga as a way to unwind (I tend to get tense/stressed out) as well as a little extra exercise. And I also wanted to get some basics/terminology in before I started an actual yoga class. I knew absolutely zero about yoga so I figured this is the best way to start. What I like about this book is that you don’t have to read it in order – you can skip around to what pertains to your immediate goals.

  7. Fred L. Curry

Much more complete than the original
This update on the original book makes it much more valuable. It is full of clear photos of asanas, but now also include a commentary with history and a new chapter (Six) that discusses meditation. I use it a lot.

  8. Kevnic K

    Simple book
Pretty simple book – not necessarily what I was looking for in terms of information. Yet this is exactly what “…for Dummies” offers, so I should have been aware before hand.

  9. Mark Owen

Wife mad yoga bunny she loves this book

  10. Amazon Customer

I am glad to have the book I wanted, but I wish it was a little cheaper for the shape it’s in. Either way though, it’s fine.

  11. JW

Very in-depth, if your into yoga it’s a very good book to own.

  12. Kelly.T

Great book for beginners, very easy to follow and would recommend it to others…

  13. Chrissie Douglass

Fab book, using to help me through my foundation of yoga.
