The THERABAND Stretch Strap was designed to facilitate both static & “contract-relax” stretching, making it a versatile tool for patients & athletes. The Stretch Strap is as effective as contract-relax partner stretching at increasing flexibility without the need for a partner. A step-up from a traditional elastic resistance band allows for more targeted stretching. The elastic stretching device delivers a more effective ‘dynamic’ stretch vs. static stretching or static stretching devices. A dynamic stretch is an active stretch that moves the muscle in it’s full range of motion and isn’t associated with a loss in strength or performance like some studies may have shown with static stretching. THERABAND makes a variety of similar products designed to facilitate rehabilitation, recovery, and strengthening, including elastic resistance bands and tubing, large exercise balls, Flexbars, soft weights, and countless other useful home workout essentials.

Sturdy product and great vendor.
I bought the Thera-Band Stretch Strap from Big Fly Sports and fulfilled by Amazon for $17.22. I see now just days later it is $14.98! I still feel positive about the product and the vendor but do wish that Amazon had some sort of price match so that if the price lowers within 48 hours of purchase or something the customer could get the difference refunded. I seem to buy a lot of products that are sold by Big Fly Sports directly and some (like this one) that was fulfilled by Amazon. Each time the product has arrived quickly and appropriately packaged.Product ReviewI have posted three pictures of it so you can see a close-up of the entire strap as it was when just taken out of the package, an extreme closeup with a quarter propped against it to give you an idea of how thick the strap is, and the third of the fold-up paper instructions so you know what to expect in that regard.I am no stretch strap pro but saw one at the gym and decided to get one for home to help with muscle soreness.Loops: The strap at the gym didn’t have the loops and the Thera-band does. I like the loops since I can catch my fingers or toes in them and don’t have to worry about slippage. The straight strap at the gym has to be wrapped around the hand or foot and I worried it might slip which doesn’t allow me to relax As well into the stretching process.Sturdy: The product is a lot sturdier than I expected. It has just the right amount of thickness and stretch to make it easy to hold and provide good resistance. It is well-sewn and appears that it should last many years.Stretch: The slight stretch/give of the strap allows me to get just the right amount of tension on my muscle. The the band contracts as I slowly release it thereby allowing my muscle to return to a normal position before release.Instructions: I didn’t exactly expect a permanent wall hanging worthy poster but also didn’t expect a small fold-up style instruction phamplet. I will take it to a copy place and have it enlarged and put on sturdier paper while I get used to using it for instruction. There seems to be enough instructions to take care of my needs. They do refer the user to their website for additional instructions. Here are the ones covered in the included instructions: upper trapezius, shoulder/triceps internal rotation, wrist flexors, pectoralis major, shoulder external rotation, great toe stretch, gastroc, soleus, it band, hip flexors, rectus femoris, hip external rotation, piriformis, lower back/glute, hamstrings.Numbers: The instructions say the numbers are so that clinicians can provide “clear, accurate instructions” and to “set goals for patients”.

This is an awesome stretch brand and I mainly use it for my …
I have purchased two of these 🙂 Two story house and I am lazy so I have one in the bedroom and one in our workout room. This is an awesome stretch brand and I mainly use it for my legs. I like to wrap it around our bed post near the bottom and sit further away and then slowly move my hands down the different “levels” to increase the stretch on my legs. Its hard to describe why this stretch band is so much better but to try……….I would simply say that it has the perfect amount of stretch/give to the band (versus a band that does not stretch) and having the different loops that are color labeled allows you to really grab a hold of the band as you increase or decrease the amount of stretch.I also used this during knee rehab and it was again a perfect stretch band. Picture being on a bed and having your foot in the last loop/hole. The stretch of the band feels really good and allows you to slowly increase the force when you are trying to do leg curls, leg extensions or leg crossovers on the bed or on the ground.

Good on the whole, a little too flexible
The band is very useful, and i really like the many loops for different exercises. Product is well made and comes with a useful booklet of possible stretches. If I have one complaint, i would say that the band stretches a bit too much- there is a bit too much give in tension which makes the band inconvenient for overhead pec and lat stretches (and leaves a bunch of strap flapping around on hamstring stretches). On the whole, very good product.

Best buy!
This by far the best theraband product that I have ever used. I have major injuries to my neck and spine & this Thera-Band allows me to stay strong without injuring myself. You can use it sitting, standing or laying down. It’s great for older or disabled people as well, who can only do chair exercises. The fact that it has handles all the way down allows me to do so many more stretches & exercises. It is also color coded right on each handle, to match the color coded elastics that are used in physical therapy. It comes with an easy to follow guide, with photos, that shows you the proper way to do each movement.Always check with your Dr. before starting exercise.I highly recommend this product

This Thera-Band is helping my husband with his ITBS pain
My husband was diagnosed with ITBS a few months ago. He’s an active guy, and the tightness and pain in his leg was becoming really problematic. He was having trouble working out, biking, going up and down the stairs or even working his 12-hour shifts as an ER R.N.. We got him a roller and this band, and he began doing ITBS stretches and rolling, and the combination has reduced the pain he feels moving about each day. He finds both the stretches and rolling painful at this stage, but feels a definite improvement afterwards. This band is durable and does the job.

It Stretches, and So Do I
I almost bought a different stretch strap which was a little cheaper, but got the Thera-Band strap because I have been highly satisfied with some of their other products. I recognized that this strap is elastic, but didn’t realize how much I would like that feature. The elasticity makes it easier for me to get the strap in position while maintaining a good grip. It also lets me flex a foot, leg, etc. for a short distance once I am in a stretch. If you want to do serious (or even frivolous) stretching, I consider this well worth the money.
