    Explains Yoga insights, themes, history👍🏼
Brilliant insights into the yogi mind- great history as well as interpreted meaning of yoga traditions. I enjoyed every page, easy to read- interesting for the beginner and advanced yogi. Although I think both sides may have a slight recoil in regards to how some of the information is presented- his matter of fact approach CAN appear arrogant or “holier than thou” but knowing the character of the author, one can conclude that’s not the case. Definitely recommend!

An inspiring yoga book on life and philosophy
Operational, very good layout of glossary and index at the end of the book which makes references very easy for Sanskrit terms.Mr Iyengar shared funny stories during his teaching and introduction on physical and spirtual yoga. How the two can become one. Cultural differences between western and eastern yoga. Tricks on union body, mind and soul. Areas for attention as self practitioner or as a teacher. The part I love most is how to put practises into daily life on health, family, love, death and faith. If you find this book interesting, you may also want to refer to “Sparks of Divinity: The Teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar from 1959 to 1975”. A book by Mr Iyengar’s student, Noelle sharing her study with this great master and a lot more of Mr Iyengar’s teaching and inspiring quotes.

  9. DORIS

    Excellent book

  10. Dhaval Kenia

Personally, I don’t find the book appealing at all. But none the less, we need more people like Mr Iyengar to spread the noble science of Yoga.

  11. Joao

Estou lendo ainda, mas gostei do que li ate aqui – muito simples e didático, além de importante para entender parcialmente porque cada ação na yoga é importante.
