A Great Guide to your Luminous Self!
In “The Luminous Self,” Tracee Stanley offers a captivating exploration of the journey towards self-remembrance. Drawing from the profound depths of yoga and Tantra, Stanley skillfully interweaves practices, meditations, and self-inquiry questions, leading the reader to the treasure of their inner wisdom. Each chapter, punctuated by enriching exercises like Yoga Nidra, Breath Work, and dreaming rituals, becomes a stepping stone to a more profound understanding of oneself. The book transcends theory by incorporating real-life anecdotes and teachings from Stanley’s own experience, making the journey relatable and deeply personal. What truly stands out to me, is the inclusivity of this guide – whether a beginner or a seasoned spiritual seeker, there’s something for everyone. Having previously delved into her book “Radiant Rest,” it’s evident that “The Luminous Self” is another testament to her mastery as a teacher and her deep commitment to empowering others through the ancient traditions of yoga and Tantra. Highly recommended for those looking for clarity, compassion, and a deeper connection to their inherent wisdom.

A profound book of wisdom teachings and practices
A significant book of wisdom teachings and practices from a spiritual teacher with deep experience and insight. A book to read slowly. Working with the practices to which one is drawn on a regular basis can reveal important inner knowing that will contribute to healing and transformation. The author guides many of the practices on recordings that are available to those who are working with the book. Her beautiful, soothing voice enhances the experience. I have found the book to be of great value. It’s a book I will hold onto and return to throughout my life.

    Another Gem from Tracee Stanley
This beautiful book weaves personal experience, sacred practice, and gentle encouragement along the dharmic path. The sincerity and clarity with which Tracee writes provides a glimmering window into what is possible when we devote ourselves to slowing down and allow all that we are to emerge. This compassionate guide is accessible for beginners and profoundly deepening for long-time students. Like Tracee, my background consists of learning through various teachings. She has gathered these ancient technologies to offer them through a much-needed modern lens. She includes reflection questions, rituals, and more to support the reader as they journey to unhindered luminosity. May we all live into our bright and brilliant light and illuminate the world with authentic, heart-centered presence.

Could use more contextual grounding; many visualization exercises may not resonate for everyone
I think I was expecting more introduction and background on the relevant yogic concepts; nothing extensive, just enough to ground and orient Stanley’s stories and practices for those of us not familiar with the field. I didn’t feel like I found that here, which I think made some of the advice and practices more difficult to fully grasp and relate to.The Luminous Self contains a lot of perspective and teachings from author Tracee Stanley and a lot of “practices” (mediations and other exercises) for readers to try out. Personally, I found a lot of the perspective discussions interesting while some parts (especially whenever referring to long-dead ancestors or the Universe communicating with us) difficult to swallow, at least without some sort of background to ground these ideas’ in a perspective that I can understand (whether or not I might agree or sympathize with it). A lot of the practices involved lots of symbolic visualization and projection which may or may not resonate for everyone and didn’t so much for me, although even so there’re a few good ideas in there.Overall, I suspect that some (perhaps some who’re more already-grounded in yogic concepts than I?) might find some or all of this book more useful than I did, but I had a hard time connecting with much of it, and found myself skimming through some of the practice descriptions near the end.

I got to know and learn about Tracee Stanley‘s work in 2020 and it has been an anchor in my life to be my own authority. This book offers simple yet powerful tools to integrate into my busy life as a mother, a full-time employee, a wife, a householder and a community person.Tools for me to show up wholly in my power and be my own authority, but that’s the outward journey. The inner journey has been about rediscovering pieces of myself, facing my impressions of life which have skewed my perspective and kept me in a loop of self sabotage or chasing goals that were not mine in the first place. Turning inward to my luminous self for clarity, healing, compassion and empathy for myself and for others. My ultimate gratitude to this work has been to see my own flaws so that I don’t continue hurting those I love and I don’t pass it over to the next generation. I do the work, so that my kids can write new stories that are not rooted in a limited mindset or victimization. They can be who they choose to be. Liberated. Mentally.Thank you luminous self. Thank you Tracee for all you do to empower the masses. Love you.Take back your narrative. Be luminous💫💫💫💫💫

If you want practices that add real value to your life read this. It’s full of helpful practices from various yoga traditions to get clear on who you are and who you are not. I love Tracee’s inquiry led teaching and writing style. She’s a beautiful soul who’s exceptionally good at leading you to find and trust your own inner wisdom. One of my favourite meditation and yoga books.
