Great book for learning about Pranayama
This book is similar to the previous book written by the author and just as detailed. it is not a fast read unless your familiar with sanskrit or hindi, but that is the main point of reading this book, it is to learn about a different culture, its terms and definations that are often lost in translation. This book certainly makes clear the concepts and ideas of Pranayama. I would suggest reading “Light on Yoga” first, as this book builts on the principles given in that one.

Must-read guide to Pranayama
I bought this as further study for a course I teach on pranayama. Wow! It’s amazing. Once I got used to the style of writing (each paragraph is numbered), I found it easy to follow. I admit, I’ve read a few sections over and over again, but that’s more to grasp the full depth of his teaching than because it’s unclear. The book is full of pictures of B.K.S. Iyengar illustrating correct and incorrect postures and practices. The first 150 pages are dedicated to theory, philosophy and preparation, including how to sit and mudras and bandhas. The technique sections within each pranayama practice are presented clearly and easy to follow. I can’t recommend this highly enough to a serious student of pranayama.

Very detailed
No regrets about this purchase. It has shed light on the art and science of pranayama. B.K.S. Iyengar is a high level guru, indeed. I have started a home pranayama practice based on some of the techniques in this book. It’s exactly what I needed to take my yoga training to the next level.

Comprehensive Info & Applicable Methods
Excellent overview and applicable information and methodologies. As well.as effective techniques. I also appreciate the comprehensive depth in explaining the importance and philosophy of what is discussed. This guide may be a little advanced for those who are surface dwellers(which is quite fine). In my opinion this is an excellent guide for serious pranayama practitioners.

Unfortunately, I’m very disappointed from the delivery service. The package was left outside under the rain, all day long, which has damaged the book, with a super bad quality. The book itself it’s the best, I’ve already read it once. Highly recommend it.

Una lettura affascinante di un testo di uno dei più grandi maestri mai esistiti.Leggetelo dopo aver studiato “light on yoga”, del medesimo autore.
