Finding the Right Balance
We went with 7P Free for the following reasons:
7P Free: free of harmful phthalates DBP, BBP, DEHP, DINP, DNOP, DIDP, and DNHP. Durability to maximize the life of the mat (less mats that then need to be produced, transported, and disposed)
Important Notes on Grip & Material
For hot yoga we recommend using our mat with a towel.
While our mat is manufacturer-graded anti-slip, high moisture & sweat from a hot yoga environment can reduce the grip & stickiness of the mat.
Rubber & microfiber-surfaced mats are alternatives for hot yoga if you don’t want to use a towel. However, many of these other materials keep a strong grip because they absorb sweat, which is great for grip, but not great for hygiene due to increased bacteria.
We appreciate many of those materials, but at this time they don’t have the durability to sustain an embossed fold over repeated uses.
PATENTED FOLD AND ROLL INNOVATION: Keeps the side of the mat you practice on separate from the (often filthy) floor side. Why is that important? Traditional yoga mats are designed to roll the floor side of the mat right onto your practice side — so whatever germs are on the gym/studio floor end up on the side you practice on.

I currently hang my mats over a bar instead of rolling because I donât want the animal hair and floor debris on my mat when I use it. I found this concept interesting! I ordered through Amazon and received within 2 days.This mat was a beautiful 2-tone blue color and was light weight and cushioned, but not too thick. I loved the ease of folding and then rolling to keep it clean!It is a great value and I have been using it everyday since our shelter in place.I highly recommend this yoga mat for everyone. My only suggestion is a snap, tie or carrier to hold the roll! Great product!!

I’m so happy this mat finally exists.
I’m a mat collector. I have about 5 mats from different brands, and this one is my favorite yet. The obvious reason for my Koru love is that I’m a bit of a germ freak. I don’t like dirty things touching clean things (no shoes inside the house, no outside clothes in the bed, not even dirty feet on my yoga mat), and I especially don’t like other people’s dirt on my clean things.The fact that this mat keeps the bottom from touching the top is a godsend. I know that the yoga studios don’t clean the floors between each class, so the thought of all that floor grime being rolled up into my mat sends my germ sensors out of whack. This mat folds over before you roll it up so that the floor side stays wrapped up against itself and the top side rolls together.Before this mat existed, I always thought it was kind of icky that yoga mats rolled onto themselves. Because of that, I wouldn’t even put my own head directly on my mat. I would lay a small towel down under my head to keep my hair clean. I’m glad I don’t have to do that anymore with the fold and roll mat! I also use my yoga mat outdoors, so it’ll be great to keep the dirt and mud from rolling onto the top of my mat.In addition to that, the surface is great. It has the right amount of stick and thickness. I can tell that it’s well-made. So far I haven’t seen any shedding of the material from my nails digging into the mat. The fold is in the right spot–slightly off center so that when the mat rolls up, the two ends line up perfectly. It’s also on the shorter side of mats (68″), so it’s quite perfect for my little size. Another point for the Koru is that it doesn’t move around the floor when I’m doing jumping moves on it. Three of my other mats slide around so much that those mats end up a few feet from where I originally placed them.I haven’t taken any photos of the mat yet, but when I do, I’ll upload them here.

Wonderful mat however itâs slippery.
I love that this mat can be easily folded, and without the top having to drag on the floor. It stays clean and has just the right balance of cushion and firmness. The color is also just as pictured. However, I do wish it had better grip. I find my hands slipping as I do downward facing dog.

The Koru mat is brilliant!! I always hated rolling the dirty side of the mat onto the clean side, and this mat makes it so I can roll clean onto clean! Plus itâs the right amount of cushion. I thought it might be thinner given how affordable it was, but itâs really high quality and the perfect texture.

My absolute favorite mat!I love how the fold line makes it easy to fold the mat in half, and I love that it helps keep the practice side germ free! Not too heavy or bulky but definitely has enough cushion for my knees.I will definitely purchase again, and purchase for my friends as well.

No grip, too slippery
I wanted to like this yoga mat but it does not have any grip. I kept slipping during my yoga class and lost my balance many times. I especially kept slipping during downward dog and standing split. This is not gonna work for me.

good quality but -NOTE folds acrosswise. So rolled width is same as usual
My bad, and I am keeping as it is good and dense good quality but folds acrosswise not lengthwise. I bought it specially to have a mat that went smaller in the rolled size to fit in my suitcase. I have a gaia travel mat that folds into squares, but wanted something thicker. My fault I guess for not looking closer so still giving 5 stars. Plus the label rips to bits when opening and if I returned they couldnt resell probably. .But I needed one that is scored lengthwise. That would be a good idea, and let it double as a bolster/ seat.

Beautiful and cushiony but too slick 🙁
I was really excited to receive this mat. I love the concept and I really wanted to love the mat but the material is just to slick for me. I didn’t even know I had sweaty hands and feet until I tried this mat ð©. I guess all of my other mats have been more nubby/grippy? I’ve tried practicing on it over the last week hoping that the slickness would wear off but it hasn’t and I don’t want to injure myself. Gonna have to return it :(. Koru, make a grippy version for us sweaty people!
