Perfect Combo of Squish and Grip
Bought one for my home yoga practice. The mat is a lot squishier than other mats I’ve used which makes it easier on my wrists and knees. The grip is great and I don’t slide as much as I used to, even with sweaty feet and hands.

Great mat!
I did a ton of research before buying this mat. I am just beginning yoga practice, so I wanted something that wasn’t overly expensive but would still do a great job. I read review after review about other mats falling apart. When I read the reviews on this mat, I was sold. I followed the advice of another reviewer and prepped my mat before I used it for the first time. I scrubbed it really well with warm water and a little dish soap, rinsed and let it dry thoroughly before rolling it and putting it away. This mat is comfortable. It’s squishy without flattening completely. It works really well on hard floors and carpet. My toddler often wants to do yoga with me and this mat is long enough to accommodate both of us as he follows most of my poses (I’m not tall by any means: 5′ 4″, my point is that this mat is long enough to accommodate a much taller person than me). If his interest in yoga continues, I’ll have to buy him his own mat. I would definitely buy this mat again. Squishy and comfortable, but easy to roll and carry around.

Great for tall people who need a little extra joint support!
I have been looking for a thicker yoga mat for awhile but I didn’t want to spend $100+ till I was sure what thickness and length worked best for me. I am so glad I did not splurge on the more expensive mats because this one works great for me. I am 6ft and I have enough space to stay on my mat but not feel like I am taking up too much space in class. The mat is really sticky so no slipping here! Overall I would suggest this mat.

Good Quality
Very sticky. Iâve had it for about 2 mos now. Iâve gotten used to it and I think the stickiness has lessened some. Nice thickness and pretty color.

5 star
This mat is SO grippy and so sticky, I love it!! It would be especially phenomenal for anyone practicing regular yoga and has been good and not that slippery for hot yoga for me bc I prefer no towel and just a mat. LOVE love this mat so much!

Pricy but MADE IN USA
I searched for a good quality mat, and I find the one from Hugger Mugger. It is comfortable although a thicker mat might be better. The color is off, I ordered a burgundy color mat and the one that I received is purplish. The item is Made in USA.

So disappointed with this version of Tapas â¹ï¸
I have had a Hugger Mugger Tapas mat for about four years that I totally loved… So sticky, I had to peel it off the ground like a bandaid after practice. It got pretty thin and started flaking away at my feet and hand prints over the past few months, so I finally decided to get a new mat and sprang for an “upgraded” model– the Tapas Ultra.Very disappointed with this mat. I’ve been using it for about a month and a half, and it’s already starting to flake at my feet prints. It slides around on the ground during practice, especially on bamboo floors. (For some reason, it sticks better to hardwood.) My mat will bunch up during practice, which is very distracting. I tried using both sides of the mat to see if one side was for the floor, but same results on both sides. I had read cautionary reviews and was worried I would feel the same way.I do like the extra cushion, and I even got the XL version (I’m 6′ tall). It’s perfect in those two departments, but I am overall disappointed with this purchase. I mainly practice vinyasa, but I do yin 1x per week. Not nearly as many problems in yin, so if that is your main practice, this mat will definitely work for you.I will unfortunately be purchasing another mat. So sad!! I loved my old Tapas!!

I can do upward bow pose now! Thanks hugger mugger
Iâve tried to do upward bow pose for a while with my Gaiam yoga mat. However, my hands kept slipping. I barely sweating, I am sure my hand is always dry. One day my yoga classmate told me maybe is mat issue, so I tried to do the same pose upward bow on her hugger mugger mat. Immediately I feel difference, so I decided to buy a hugger mugger yoga mat.I received this yoga mat just three days and I already total fall in love with it. Iâve tried several poses and my hands stay sturdily. And it is really lightweight but comfortable. I left knee had been surgery, so my knee bone is very sensitive to hard ground. This Hugger mugger mat did a good support for both my hands and knees. I love it and highly recommend to yoga lover. Itâs not expensive but do the same job for me, if compared with Jade or manduka brand.

There is no slipping on this mat. I am 6 ft tall and it is longer than regular mats. Best purchase I could have made in a yoga mat!

Mat is very suitable for the yoga I do. I like the colour. It has a good, slightly grippy surface.
