Adds a New Dimension to Practice–Beautiful and Well Made!
I love these rugs and I have several of them. They add extra traction for Hot and Vinyasa style yoga. If you’re looking for a little extra cushion, they can be used in conjunction with any style yoga mat (and at 74″, they totally cover most). They rugs themselves are beautiful, durable, and thick–they feel good to the feet. No matter if you do yoga on a thick mat or thin, rubber, or poly, or just on the bare floor–each type of surface is going to give you a different type of “feedback” in your practice. These can be used alone of course, but having them also allows you to pair them with differing mats which creates a unique feedback for each paring. I find that very valuable. Finally, these rugs are washable. I wash them with an agitator free washer with 1/2 the amount of detergent I would use on a similar size item. When you wash them the first time, IF colors bleed (only once for me), just scrub the effected area with detergent and wash them again. I always hang dry. Hugger Mugger has excellent products across the board! I’ve never gotten a sub-par product from them and they have excellent customer service!

    I love it!
This yoga rug is durable, well made, has a tight weave and, as a plus, I like the colors of the pattern. The point of the tight weave is to provide grip, not necessarily to provide creature comfort. That’s why I rated it only 3 stars on comfort. It would slip on a tile or hardwood floor, so it is best to use with a yoga mat. My mat was old and was losing some of its stickiness. I am glad this rug to use with it. This rug is excellent and I look forward to using it for years to come.

    Good quality but low grip
Nice thick rug that looks and feels great but the grip is minimal.

    So happy this exists!!
My confidence in my yoga classes shot up 100% once I got this mat. Worthy every penny. Extremely high quality and thick, and it looks good.

    grippy and absorbent
This works great layered on top of a standard yoga mat. My hands and feet don’t slip around anymore! I love the simple design and natural fibers.

    Great so far
Beautiful colors. I just wish that it had some kind of natural grip on the bottom as using this is dangerous

    Yoga Rug Review
The rug is exactly as advertised. It is a little longer and a little wider than a regular yoga mat, which is just what I like. The material is study, tightly woven, and the seams on the ends are good. I have washed it once, as I do my 5 year old yoga rug, in cold water and hang to dry, to avoid shrinkage. The colors did not fade or run. Also, the tight weave did not shed fibers in the wash. The brown/tan mix is restful in appearance. It is still a bit stiff, but with a few months usage and and few more washings, it will soften up…..as the old one did.In wide-leg poses, I often flip the rug half off my sticky mat for a more stable grip; but with sweaty feet, it’s better than the sticky mat. When on hands and knees, sitting on it, or in savasana, it feels better than a sticky mat. This kind of rug is not meant to provide much cushioning. It’s thick, tight weave is truly similar to any good floor rug….which makes it very durable. I use it on top of my sticky mat, and for additional knee cushioning (like in gate/parighasana pose)I folding both mats over double does the trick.

    We love this yoga mat
We love this yoga mat. We like how it’s natural and it does not have the toxic smell you get from standard yoga mats. Great to find this option besides the other yoga mats made from rubber or foam and plastic. It’s a great price for a well-made product. Looks like it will last a long time. We’ve used it several times outside on grass and inside the house on our hardwood floors. So far it’s holding up well. We use a towel or blanket on top of it for additional cushion for the knees (if needed on certain poses and on hardwood floors). It doubles for hallway rugs and we’ve used it for picnics. This would be great to bring at the beach as well. We like the versatility and portability. If it gets dirty, we like that we can wash it.

Esta muy bueno, solo hay que lavarlo bien ya que suelta mucha pelusa al principio

This yoga rug has a great quality- it works really well for standing or inverted asanas: it is much easier to keep your balance on it rather than on PVC mats. Just a word of caution for people with tender skin: it’s a bit rough, so be careful not to damage your skin when practicing let’s say Patangasana or Shishushupalasana.

Not soft, or even smooth… I would not be happy with this as a yoga mat. Happily, that isn’t what I bought it for.
