    Now, this is a block!
When I decided to buy a pair of blocks I knew they would be Hugger Mugger. I’ve tried their foam blocks in the class and they worked great. I definitely wanted something solid and was debating between their cork blocks and foam blocks. I ended up getting the cork blocks because they match my mat better and are eco-friendly. I was a little bit hesitant because I never used cork before and I didn’t know if they would hurt my hands or would be too heavy. At the beginning I though they were too hard, but they are not. These are just NICE! I love how these blocks never collapse regardless of how many different asanas I try. I also like how the strenght of the cork material makes me use my muscles better by transmitting my muscle strenght toward other muscles and not buffering it into a soft block. Sturdy, very sturdy but comfortable enough to place and keep it in my back for a while during supine poses. Like others have mentioned, the feel to it is really nice; nice smooth surface and the built is superior quality. They are very well made, surfaces are even and don’t look cheap at all. Regarding the weight I don’t think they are that heavy. I weighted them & each one is 1.8 lbs. Maybe to carry a pile of them wouldn’t be that cool but these are so nice I wouldn’t mind taking them to class. These are my first pair of blocks and after using them for a while I don’t think I will be back to any other block. They truly a great buy for me. Versatile. These cork blocks work amazing for standing, energizing and restorative poses. They have tremendously helped to open my horizons in my yoga practice. Really love them!

Perfect Size and Weight for My Smaller Hands
I originally ordered another brand (Maduka) that also had rave reviews. It measured 9”x6”x4”. They seemed to be well made and substantial, but they were just a little too wide and heavy for me, so I sent them back. I had a hard time using them with the half moon pose. The Hugger Muggers measure 9”x5.5”x3.5”, and the half inch difference on the width and depth made them perfect for my smaller hands. They seem very similar to the Madukas, but just a little smaller and lighter. I can now do the half moon pose with ease. The description says they weigh a pound—I couldn’t find what the other brand weighs—but the Mandukas felt a little heavier. To compare your hands with mine, mine measure 7 inches from my wrist to the tip of my third finger and 8 inches from my thumb to little finger when my hand is spread as wide as possible. (See photos.) I also have a foam block, but I much prefer the cork. Every time I see the “Hugger Mugger” name on the side of the blocks, it puts a smile on my face. I am very happy with this purchase!

Strictly a personal choice, but this is a good one
Yoga blocks come in different sizes, different weights, different densities or hardness and different colors and different materials. If you’ve been doing yoga for a while you probably know your preferences. There is no “better” for most of these, its just preference. That said, this is how these cork blocks stack upSize: pretty close to standard, that is about the same size of 90% of the blocks I’ve seen.Weight: Heavier than a foam block, lighter than a wooden blockHardness: Fairly hard, but much softer than wooden blocks.Overall I find it a very attractive and comfortable block.

    Hugger Mugger Cork Yoga Block
Fantastic block! They’re cork so they’re heavy, but exactly what I was looking for.

  6. Cristina D

    Good quality
    Product is as advertised

    Well Made, Kind of Heavy
Up until I bought these, I had only used the foam or wood blocks. I didn’t love the give of the foam and the wood ones are both painful and loud when I drop them (which happens a lot.) The cork seemed like a good solution. They seem well made and do the job. I give them four stars because they are heavier than I thought they would be, though that fault really doesn’t come into play that often.
