Pairing simplified yoga poses with alphabetized animals and objects, ABC Yoga features colorful illustrations of children and animals practicing yoga along with playful rhymes to explain each movement.
Crawl like a crocodile, stretch like a fox, and hop like a grasshopper, discovering basic yoga poses as you learn the alphabet. A fun family read, this interactive book is perfect for teaching toddlers their ABCs, as well as introducing them to familiar animals and basic, simplified yoga poses that promote health and well-being. Each letter of the alphabet is paired with an engaging illustration mimicking the various animals’ natural movements. Clever rhymes explain how toddlers (and their parents!) can copy the poses, each of which encourage movement, physical fitness, and mental health.
The 26 yoga poses, one for each letter of the alphabet, are renamed for easy recognition, while an index at the end of the book identifies the correct name for each asana (yoga pose) for the adults. Among them:
Armadillo (extended child’s pose)Butterfly (cobbler)Dog (downward facing dog)Whale (bridge)Yak (cow)
The charming pictures and playful rhymes in ABC Yoga encourage children and their parents to get up and move, promoting physical activity, learning, and togetherness.

Love this book
Love this book! The illustrations are cute and colorful. My almost 2 year-old loves it. I will admit that it’s a little long and she doesn’t have the attention span for it yet, but she does enjoy it. We’ve started doing a few of the yoga moves before bedtime. Her favorite is Butterfly, followed by downward dog. Just FYI, it’s not a full story, but rather a few sentences of each animal/pose for each letter of the alphabet. The last few pages show all the poses together like in a grid-style and if I remember correctly, it has the name of each pose. It’s an adorable book!

Fabulous yoga book for kids!
Love this book so much- great for kids who have a hard time sitting and listening to a story. I use it for toddlers, preschoolers , and kindergartners. Allows for movement, letter literacy, and fun!

Great book to get little ones involved in yoga!
We started doing a family morning yoga routine and I purchased a kids yoga mat and this book for our 5 year old son. He loves it! Immediately he started going through the book and doing each pose to the letters. He even got the neighborhood kids to join when they came over in the afternoon. Really cute! If you are looking for something to help get your little one involved in yoga, this is the book!

Cute kids yoga book
My 3 year old loves this book. Every day after her nap she gets this book out and her little yoga mat and follows along the book trying to copy the poses. She even tries to teach us. I like that it also has the alphabet. Some of the poses have different animals than what pose they really are but whatever itâs a kids book.

Such a cute book and a great introduction to yoga
Such a cute book and a great introduction to yoga! My 2-year-old was very curious when watching mommy do yoga, so I bought him this book. Now he practices the different poses and goes to grab the book whenever he sees me exercising. Each page has a different animal, so even the poses that are too difficult for him to do at his age, he has fun impersonating the animals. Very cute illustrations and sturdy pages for little hands.

Buy it. Great hit with our toddler.
This is a great book. My husband and I “played” Yoga with our 28 months old daughter. We all loved it. She was very excited and could hardly wait for the next page. We did this after bath time instead of the normal story reading. We had good giggles, a good workout (since we were doing the poses rather quickly with high energy) and our daughter slept well that night. This is a great book for gifting. Definitely a keeper! You do not need to be a child to enjoy it. But having one around definitely helps 😛
